The following guidelines will be used in determining whether a fee waiver or reduction is warranted. These amounts are based on the 2013 U S Census Poverty Thresholds. New EOUST Guidelines state that families with income less than 150% of the Poverty Guidelines for the Contiguous 48 States are presumed to be entitled to a fee waiver. However, the final decision is up to the discretion of the counselor based on the individual/family’s ability to pay after analyzing the filer’s income and discretionary living expenses; for example, unusual or extravagant living expenses or purchases will be taken into consideration in determining whether a fee waiver or reduction is warranted. For families/households with monthly income exceeding the 150% Threshold below, there will not be any fee waiver or reduction except in cases of extreme situations or circumstances.
